The Teaching and Learning Enhancement Grants are offered to academics and clinicians in the School of Medicine and Psychology to support the creation and implementation of educational enhancement initiatives. There is $5,000 available for each program in the school to use, with applications to be approved by the relevant Program Committee before going to the SMP Education Committee for endorsement.

What kind of projects can be funded?

TELT projects can include a range of different options to enhance learning and teaching in a particular program or course, such as re-designing curriculum, courses, activities, or assessments to promote active learning for students. For example, adapting lecture content into interactive online modules can free up in-class time to focus on hands-on activities.

The project funding is often used to provide staffing to support the academics and clinicians to research and prepare the content, with the TELT team producing multimedia, graphics, video, and providing learning design and project management support. Funding can also be used to purchase specialised software, hardware, or digital assets if needed.

Working collaboratively with the Centre for Learning and Teaching, we developed a simulation of a mountain climber on Everest to teach students about hypoxia.

Curriculum design
Working with academics to review and re-design the curriculum and program requirements for the Masters of Culture, Health, and Medicine program.

How do I apply?

The chart below shows the process to apply for an Enhancement Grant. The first step is to discuss your idea with a member of the TELT team, which you can organise by booking a consultation.
