As Teaching Sites for Winter and Semester 2 courses are now available, this week we’re focusing on updating the Welcome and Course Information pages on your Teaching Site.
If your course is scheduled for delivery in 2026, you can complete this week’s activity on your Migrated Site instead.
Activity: Update your Welcome and all other Course information page
1. Go to your Teaching Site, under “Home”, click the “Welcome”.
There will be a reminder at the top left corner saying “Second Semester, 2025” in your Teaching Site.
2. Enter the Welcome page, review and update the information on this Page.
On the Welcome page, click “Edit” in the top right corner.
Update the text content to reflect your course details.
To embed a video, try using Studio (highlighted in the orange square).
You can also insert interactive content such as images, external/internal links, and documents.
(The image below shows an example of what can be inserted.)
3. Save the changes.
4. Update other Pages under “Course Information” Module.

There will be two hands-on workshops with the SMP-TELT team to support to prepare Winter/Semester 2 Canvas course pages:
- Workshop 1 – getting Canvas sites ready for teaching – Winter and Semester 2 2025 is scheduled on 30th April and 2nd May.
- Workshop 2 – finalising Canvas sites ready for teaching – Winter and Semester 2 2025 is scheduled on 27th May.
